Started as a trainee at Europe’s most respected computer magazine; editor from 1992.

Founding heise Download
Devised and led heise Download (originally the heise software directory) for many years — hand-coded at first, later with its own database and a large team.

Head of the Practice section, later Applications.

Deputy editor-in-chief of c’t
Head of software with a team of around 35 editors, two relaunches and the launch of the magazine’s CD and DVD supplements — which helped produce ten of the best-selling c’t issues of all time, each selling more than 500,000 copies.

Founder & editor-in-chief of Mac & i
Devised and built the Apple magazine Mac & i: more than 80 issues, special editions and e-books, thousands of online news stories, the widely praised Mac & i podcast, conferences such as heise MacDev, and the B2B service Mac & i Pro.

In the app stores, algorithms and download numbers decide what becomes visible. On Most Voted Apps, the users decide — traceably, across platforms, and independently of any store ranking.
